At least four people were killed and another 23 injured when their vehicle skidded off the road in Kanchanakuda in the Ampara district this evening, police said.

They said that the group were in a lorry returning from the Ullai area at the time of the accident. The injured were admitted to the Thirukkovil and Akkaraipattu hospital, police added.
