The much awaited dawn of Christmas and New Year is again drawing closer.
People from all walks of life are now getting ready to celebrate these important festivals.
During the seasons both young and old send greetings & good wishes by greeting cards to relatives and friends around the world . This year too Help Age Sri Lanka (HASL) has produced over 500,000 Christmas and New Year greeting cards for people to share personal greetings among their friends and relatives. The proceeds from the sale of these cards will be utilized to perform free Cataract Surgery to the country’s low income & underprivileged Senior Citizens who are over 55 years of age.
The greeting cards are available with a selection of colourful photographs, paintings and graphic designs which are embossed and foiled.
Anyone who wishes to contribute towards The Help Age free Cataract Surgery Programme could now be a partner of this worthy cause by purchasing at least one greeting card. Their contribution immensely helps the less- privileged elders to restore their vision.
Help Age, Executive Director Samantha Liyanawaduge said any underprivileged Senior Citizens who wish to have Cataract Surgeries completely free of charge can visit the HelpAge Eye Hospital, No-14,Sinsapa Road,Wellawatta. (Opposite the Savoy Cinema) . HASL, Manager Fundraising, Ruchilalani Batuwantudawa said the greeting cards are on sale at very affordable prices at leading book shops in Colombo and in the main cities including in Galle and Kandy and also at leading Super Centres.
