The inaugural photo exhibition by the Sri Lanka Photojournalists Association (PASL), opened on Friday July 26 with President Maithripala Sirisena, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya and Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa in attendance. The exhibition was unveiled at 3 p.m. at the J.D.A. Perera Gallery and featured the work of some of Sri Lanka’s leading photojournalists. The event paid tribute to eight senior photojournalists – Sena Vidanagama, Bandu S. Kodikara, late Srilal Gomes, Saranapala Pamunawa, S. Chithrananda, U.N. Perera, Walter Perera and Alfred Silva – while the winners of the Photo Competition were presented their awards at the ceremony. The exhibition ended yesterday at 5 p.m.
