Furkhan Noordeen honoured with dual doctorate, coveted title

Daily Mirror Senior Sub Editor Furkhan Noordeen was conferred with Doctorate of Excellence in Management and Social Sciences (Honoris Causa) from the American National Business University and clinched the title of ‘Kirthi Sri Deshashakthi Samajaseva Kirthi’ awarded by the National Peace Association at two separate ceremonies held over the weekend at Global Towers and the BMICH.  
Recipient of the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Memorial Excellence Award for ‘Youth Peace Ambassador of the Year’ in recognition of societal development efforts and yeoman service to humanitarian space, 


Dr. Furkhan is a distinguished member of the media interest group of Sri Lanka Unites and was listed as an international author by a leading digital media platform in the Republic of Ireland for his contribution to the world’s most persecuted minority.  
An alumnus of Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute (BIDTI) and Universities of Derby and London Metropolitan in the United Kingdom, Dr. Furkhan is just shy of claiming his Executive Master of Science (MSc) degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Asia e-University, Malaysia.  
A renowned compere and quadrilingual benefitting from a network of professional correspondence, Dr. Furkhan has hosted a plethora of events and interviewed a number of business tycoons and doyens of multi-sectoral disciplines.

Schooled at St. Benedict’s College in Colombo, he proved himself to be a disciplined student steeped in exemplary character and unflinching determination. He represented college at a myriad of events including the Model United Nation (MUN), Commonwealth Youth Conference and London Curriculum on Information Technology. He was part of the English Literary Union, English Debate Club, Scrabble League and English Drama Club that vied at inter-school Shakespeare competitions. He had also hosted a multitude of collegiate events and representing his alma mater, actively taken part in impromptu, spelling and creative writing competitions among others.   
Expanding his horizons through a lateral thought process and sustained enthusiasm, Dr. Furkhan dedicates his professional acumen and industrial prowess to lifelong learning in a bid to take on an escapade of exploring greener pastures in his area of expertise.
