A group of 48 Buddhist monks arrived in Sri Lanka from Bhutan at the request of the King of Bhutan to invoke blessings on Sri Lankans, the new government is seeking protection from the new coronavirus spreading across the globe. The monks chanted pirith and conducted other religious observances at the Nagananda International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS), Kelaniya last morning to invoke blessings. The Chancellor of the NIIBS, Ven. Dr. Bodagama Chandima Bhikkuni was also present.
