Sri Lanka’s first centric professional network, WERK celebrated a special launch at Hatch, Colombo recently. The 100 invitees who were chosen from a variety of fields were impressed by the mission and objectives of this new platform to unite the combined power of women entrepreneurs and those in the corporate field towards the larger goal of economic power and progress. Co-Founder Ms Yusra Aziz-Eliyas introduced and explained the venture.
This will be a good opportunity for women to share and discuss their ideas for progress. We could do with more women in politics too at decision making level. It ‘s a shame to see so many cases of rape, abuse against women going on unabated and increasing by the figures shown recently. More women in politics could do something about this.
