Australian drowns while Surfing

An Australian tourist who was surfing in the seas off Okanda Panama in Pottuvil drowned this morning.

The victim, Martin Wilson (51) and his wife who arrived in Sri Lanka about two days ago were staying at a hotel in Arugambay. (U.Wijesinghe-Pottuvil)

The touist board should train and deploy life gaurds at all the popular beaches in the country. As more and more tourists visit the beaches accidents like this will be more frequent.

we should learn from beaches like Bondi in Australia where thousands visit & there is a very effective life guard operation implemented at these beaches. people should not be allowed to bath or swim in beaches without life guard protection..
