By Supun Dias and Gandhya Senanayake

Police have begun forcefully removing the protestors who are staging a fast unto death outside the UN office in Colombo preventing the staff from coming out of the premises.

A group of protestors had forced themselves inside the UN premises but were removed by the police.

Meanwhile several UN staff have begun leaving the premises amidst police protection.

Government Minister Wimal Weerawansa who had left the scene earlier had returned and got onto the stage which remained erected at the side of the UN office. (Daily Mirror online)

Nice drama. Everything is according to the script. If some university students gathered, this would have been a different story.

Thats not enough. Arrest and jail the main culprit who incited the people and took the lead in organising this protest.

This will not do any good to the country, except getting some extra votes for Wimal Weerawansa. Rather we would earn a name like Zimbabwe. Hope the economy would not go down to the level of Zimbabwe.

these protesters are Behaving like criminals. If this happened to a Sri Lanka Embassy in the west it would have caused a wild outcry from GOSL. A shame to see even Buddhist "Monks" give support to this terrorist behaviour, even burning the effigy of UN general secretary. Thugs all of them!

Many wise words are spoken in jest, but they don’t compare with the number of stupid words spoken in earnest.

I am only asking a question from GOSL,
1. How do these people protest in a high securty zone?
2. Can these people protest like animal?
3. What action does GOSL and police take action aginst these culprits?

God Bless our country from these stupid ministers & so called Sri Lankan. These guys can go overseas like dogs for other matters.
