Largest heroin haul nabbed

The Kalpitiya police seized 40 kg of herion in the early hours of today from Chilaw, the largest ever herion haul to be nabbed in Sri Lanka, police said. The value of the heroin is an estimated Rs. 240 million.

Police Spokesperson SP Preshantha Jayakody said that the heroin was seized from obtaining vital information after questioning a suspect who was arrested at the airport on March 6 while trying to flee to India. (SD)

Good work. Can heroin be used on medicine? cancer patients? how SL gov utilize such free supplies? any transparency in such use after our heroic police captured them?
