Why wait until and after the last election. No proper intelligence was there before or during his tenure as army chief. His whole family is in a limbo. Perhaps the government was sleeping all this while.

When the time comes Maharaja and his brothers will definitely have to face hundreds of charges. Nothing is permanent in this world.

He has contributed to this country more than many of our politicians. If other politicians are investigated we will get hundreds more offences to try them in courts. Why shouldn't the President release him and set a precedence for reconciliation. Unless we stop this confrontational politics, this country will not be able to go forward.

Fully agree, if the president was able to negotiate with the terrorists and its prominent members like Karuna and Pillyan etc., why not with SF who has contributed immensly to the nation. In my opinion and I believe most of the others will agree with me that charges against the General will definelty not greater than those of people like Karuna, Pillayan etc.,
Also, the authorities not only should investigate SF and his family financial activities for corruption but all politcians whether in the government or opposition sides.

I hope this conflict will have and end very soon for the sake of the poor and middle classs people of this country.

This trial like is nothing else only a political dram same way to trial at sadam hussain. But SF is not a man like sadam 4 million vote for him. I hope SF shall not answer to any questions at bar. Any way perpetrators must protect themselves too.

This is a made up story to a very great extent. I have two questions. First is why did the govt take him to custody and then start to gather evidence? This does not happen normally. Second question is even before the investigations commenced, a senior person in the govt. said SF will be sent to jail for 05 years. Recently, Major General Prasad Samarasinghe also said SF will be sent to jail for 05 years. How can they say before the judgement is delivered? This proves case is a pre-determined one.

other thing is if certain pepole in the Army do not do what others say, they have to go home. So they are like puppets. Govt may keep SF in jail for the next 5-6 years so no threat to them.

To seek the truth freely and to approach it freely along his own lines, is a mans right.
Sadly not so in Sri Lanka.
Why is KP not charged as yet?

More precisely 4 weeks for 5 charges. The Army found only 5 charges, after detaining him. What a disgrace!

And now, the end is near,
And so I face the final curtain.
My friends, I'll say it clear;
I'll state my case of which I'm certain.

I've lived a life that's full -
I've travelled each and every highway.
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

THE END IS NEAR FOR WHOM ? ? ?
