United National Party (UNP) Deputy General Secretary Ruwan Wijewardene said on Thursday he expected the UNP to be revamping of UNP after the general election.
He said this when journalists questioned him on the report of the committee which recommended a restructuring of the party. Mr. Wijewardene was a prominent member of this committee.
“Some of the recommendations made by this committee have already been implemented,” Mr. Wijewardene said.
“We recommended some time ago that UNP’s former deputy leader Sajith Premadasa be appointed as the leader of the party. However such a thing cannot be expected now since he had left the party and formed another,” he said.
