It is more important to focus on the crisis situation that has arisen in the country rather than harping on crisis situations in political parties, former State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene said yesterday.
Mr Wijewardene made this remark when speaking to Journalists during the opening of the party office in Biyagama last morning.
“The biggest crisis today is the inequality when enforcing the country’s law,” he said referring to how the police reacted to the recent protest organised by the Frontline Socialist Party. It seemed that a different law was enforced when it comes to the funeral of late Minister Arumugam Thondaman while another law was enforced on the Frontline Socialist Party. This is the main issue that has to be focused on, Mr Wijewardene said.
He said issues faced by the country should be resolved first before focusing on issues pertaining to political parties.
