The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) commenting on the dismissal of a court case in the United States against its presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa, said these were unsuccessful attempts at disqualifying him.
Party chairman G.L. Peiris told Daily Mirror that a similar attempt was made by some people here by challenging his citizenship in the Court of Appeal. However, he said the court dismissed the case and upheld the view that the petition was mala fide.
Prof. Peiris asked these people to challenge Mr. Rajapaksa politically if they were able to do so.
