The public have expressed concern about the substandard sanitisers available in the market and used in government and private sector institutions.
They pointed out that there is an increase in demand for sanitisers and is a fast-moving item today due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the standard of sanitisers available in the market was not guaranteed.
Several individuals in Aluthgama said the use of sanitisers resulted in allergies and that they had to obtain medical treatment.
They pointed out that it was the duty of the health authorities to prevent the manufacture of substandard sanitisers.
