COVID -19 vaccination trials will take place today (23) at Piliyandala Divisional Hospital and Ragama Teaching Hospital and the Piliyandala MOH Office, the Health Ministry said.
Deputy Director-General of Health Services (DDGHS) Dr. Hemantha Herath said they had made arrangements at the respective locations yesterday and were prepared to perform the trials today.
“This will help us get an idea as to how vaccination should be done and also to identify the mistakes and shortcomings in the process. This will also give us the idea to determine the number of vaccines that could be given to a person within an hour or a day,” he said.
He said the Health Ministry geared up to start vaccination in the country. The Ministry has also decided to vaccinate first the health officials and front-line workers.
