Plecto Aliquem Capite (PAC) recently announced the release of a two track EP titled As the Sane Crumble, with Buddhika Karunasekera on vocals, Kasun on drums and harp and Pravin on guitar.
The two tracks, Cemetery of the Deep and Disembowelment were performed live at RockStorm 2009 in Kandy and have been released online via the band’s record label Zeikte-Nl and Hypnotic Dirge Records.
The EP is a testament to how the band has diversified their sound and it shows a more aggressive side to the PAC’s music with the amalgamation of death metal and grind core elements.
Fans can expect high pitch wails, thunderous drums, droning guitar riffs and the occasional sound of the harp - all in all, you’ll be in for 14 minutes of music that’s bound to make your skin crawl, provided that you can stomach something as extreme as this!
Leader of the band, Buddhika also announced a split EP with Belgium’s very own crafters of bleak black metal Yhdarl. This EP includes two tracks by PAC - namely and Rewards of Seeking Wisdom and The Ropes Hang along with a 25 minute track by Yhdarl titled Morbid Consciousness it is currently available for four euros on the Zeikte-Nl website.
Other recent developments include the completion of Stoned Guru Ramblings, set to be released as a split EP with Hela Black Metal band Funeral in Heaven. However the release of the video to PAC’s track Moses seems unlikely according to Buddhika as neither band member has the ‘time or energy’ to edit it.
A lineup change in the band is also expected in the near future and will see Buddhika remaining on vocals and song writing, Kasun on drums, violin, occasional guitar and other stringed instrument, Roshan (from PLNS, Raven06 and MDR) on Guitar and Sanka on vocals and violin as they bid farewell to Pravin.
