Mahindagamanaya coming for Vesak

Seasoned director Sanath Abeysekara’s newest movie ‘Mahindagamanaya’ based on the arrival of Buddhism to Sri Lanka will be screened in the CEL circuit from May 18 this year to coincide with Vesak
The historic movie, which will coincide with the significant 2600 Sambuddha Jayanthi, was launched with the blessings of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Buddha Sasana Ministry.

The movie produced by Daminda Upali Fernando will feature leading artistes including Jeevan Kumaratunga who will play the role of King Devanampiyatissa and Dilhani Ekanayake will play Queen Ramadaththa. The other key roles will be played by Jayani Senanayake, Roshan Ranawana, Roshan Pilapitiya, Duleeka Marapana, G. R. Perera, Kumara Thirimadura, Oshadie Hewamadduma, Sarath Dikkumbura, Chinthaka Kulathunga  and others.

Rohana Weerasinghe will compose the music while Channa Deshapriya will handle the camera. Sunil Premaratne is the Art Director.

Ven. Pallegama Hemarathana Thera, Ven. Ellawala Medhananda Thera and Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne will pen the lyrics.
