PRESENTED A SPIRITUAL AND PASSIONATE PIANO RECITALBYSHANI DILUKA

The audience which gathered for the recital that SHANI DILUKA   gave for the benefit of the Sri Lanka Cancer Society received a demonstration which established that passion and spirituality are certainly not contradicting forces.

For Beethoven’s Spring Sonata for Violin and Piano which closed the first half of her programme, SHANI DILUKA invited Gabriel  LE MAGADURE  to join her on the platform. The latter enjoys an enviable international  xareer as a member of the Ebene Quartet in France , acknowledged by many as the leading string quartet of their generation.

A well deserved vociferous standing ovation greeted the artistes at the  end of their performance and the audience  would not let Shani go until she extended her recital with three encores (repeats), the last of which being a rare unpublished Wagner piece moved audience members to tears.
