Students protest at Fort

Police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesting university students who had reached Fort on a protest march organised by the Inter University Student Federation (IUSF). The protest began from the Kelaniya University this morning over several issues including the reduction of the funds allocation for the education sector. Pix by Nisal Baduge

    Free education at university level should be abolished in Sri Lanka as these students do not appreciate the value of what the tax payers provide them. Once they start paying for their education they will think twice before protesting at the drop of a hat.
