UNP is celebrating the 70th and SLFP the 65th anniversary. SLFP was formed when senior most UNPer SWRD Bandaranayake left the UNP as the leadership was gone to the son Dudley from his father DS. Ironically, today, the UNP and the SLFP jointly governs the country.
