Medical students always clamor for free education but when they get qualified as doctors, all they are interested is private medical practice to earn as much money as possible. They oppose private universities but never oppose private hospitals. What a deception.

Many countries now have private universities that issue degrees after due process. In Sri Lanka we still dance to the tune of a few selfish individuals who know that their lawless monopoly is at stake.

Why was the armed forces brought in to fight a medical problem ? If MBBS is such an important degree then there would not have been any need for military intervention, thankfully the military fought a gallant battle and had brought the “ medical problem “ under control. The fact is it does not matter if someone has an MBBS degree from a government university, private university, heaven , or hell, they are all clueless and powerless if there are no vaccines or drugs coming from the brainy Scientists. This global pandemic has exposed to the world “ the obvious limitations and the inherent scientific illiteracy of the doctors “ yet these arrogant medical students are demonstrating, instead they should go and fall at the feet of the military to thank them for saving Sri Lanka from the dreaded covid-19.

Aberdeen is recognised by the UK medical council. Education is a right, and is not a privilege. If someone is qualified to enter, and has the opportunity to reduce the outflow of foreign currency, why should it affect these students? A little competition wouldn't hurt.

Srilanka needs more doctors . Srilanka has clever children . If the government run medical college cannot produce more doctors what's wrong in students getting qualified from a reputed overseas university provided the students have successfully completed A' L' s . Saitem was destroyed . Srilanka should produce more doctors n open up opportunities to outsource them to the world earning more foreign income . Srilanka has the ability to be known as a country providing professionals not just labourers n housemaids . For ages medical students have been jealous and closing opportunities for the others who can spend on pvt medical college .
