The St. Anthony’s Church Feast of Kachchathivu island was held yesterday with the participation of a large number of Catholics from Sri Lanka and South India. This year’s feast marked the third of its kind conducted upon the completion of the new church by the Sri Lanka Navy. Sri Lanka Navy assisted the Bishop of Jaffna and District Secretary-Jaffna for organizing this year’s feast. Pix by Pradeep Pathirana

I have been there one time. very beautiful islet with wonderful beaches flora and fauna. every sri Lankan should visit this place at least one time though you are a catholic or not. sad thing is dumping of garbage by pilgrims and cutting down trees by pilgrims and organizers of the event. I think NAVY can take rigorous actions to save the Islet from so called pilgrims cumming from India and Sri Lanka
