Construction of Isolation Wards at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH) by the engineering team from the SLAF Directorate of Civil Engineering is to be completed by tomorrow. The construction of two Pre-Fabricated buildings commenced on the 18th of March under the direct supervision of Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sumangala Dias. Not good thinking for a short term pandemic. What is ideal more than permanent structures are mobile trailer units or floating hospitals that can be moved either on land or sea closer to areas of an outbreak. This is how military medical cores operated during WW2 and was found to be most effective.
