Bourse ends flat

The Colombo stock market ended on a flat note, weighting marginally on to the negative zone.
 
ASI decreased by 4.97 points (-0.09%) to close at 5,407.47 while sensitive MPI declined by 3.17(-0.06%) to end at 4,907.15.
Market turnover stood at Rs.249.9mn.
 
John Keells Holdings Plc (Rs.27.8mn) was the top contributor to the daily turnover. In addition Softlogic Capital Plc (Rs.26.3mn) and Swarnamahal Financial Plc (Rs.21.8mn) made noteworthy contributions to the daily turnover.
 
Meanwhile Swarnamahal Financial Plc, Environmental Resources Plc and Commercial Bank Plc traded actively during the day.
 
Foreign participation stood at 28.6% of the total market activity and at the end of the day foreign investors were the net buyers with a net foreign inflow of Rs.33.5mn.
