Bourse ends flat

The Colombo equity market ended flat today on limited buying pressure by investors as market displayed no signs of momentum.ASI increased by 4.62 points (+0.08%) to end at 5,464.81 while sensitive MPI increased by 29.23 points (+0.62%) to close at 5,464.81. Market turnover stood at Rs.1.0bn.
 
Aitken Spence Holdings Plc (Rs.347.1mn) emerged as the top contributor to the daily turnover along with Sathosa Motors Plc (Rs.237.1mn) and John Keells Holdings Plc (Rs.156.8mn). SPEN recorded two crossings of 2.6mn shares at a price of Rs.115.00.
 
Active trading was demonstrated on retail counters such as Environmental resources Plc, PC House Plc and HVA foods Plc.
 
Foreign participation stood at Rs.28.5% of the total market activity and at the end of the day foreign investors were the net buyers with a net foreign inflow of Rs.413.7mn.
