Turnover hits 22 moths low

Colombo stocks ended in red today with both indices recoding losses. ASI lost 22.46 points (-0.35%) to close at 6,323.59 while sensitive MPI lost 3.44 points (-0.06%) to close at 5,650.91.Daily market turnover hit 22 months low of Rs.533.8mn. 
 
John Keells Holdings topped the turnover list today followed by newly listed Trade Finance & Investment (Rs.48.5mn) and HVA Foods (Rs.30.1mn) with active trading. Debutant Trade Finance & Investment reached the high of Rs.26.00 and closed par with the offer price of Rs.20.00
 
In addition, People’s Merchant Bank, Colombo Land and Development and Nation Lanka Finance were among the mostly traded stocks.
 
Foreign participation was relatively high and it accounted for 20% of the total market activity. At the end of trading foreign investors ended as net buyers with net foreign inflow of Rs.64.0mn
