Sri Lanka will open its airports for both local and foreign air travelers from by end January after over 10 months of closure, the Ministry of Aviation announced today.
Having closed the airports to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Ministry said that the government hopes to carry out the duties of the offices and institutions according to health and safety precautions, getting in line with the 'new normal’.
In a statement to the media yesterday, the Ministry said that Sri Lanka will learn from countries that have already started welcoming tourists and opening their airports.

It's the people inside the country that is problematic , you have factions of the country who want what's best for the country then you have another faction who wants what's best for their pocket and then you have the religious nut bags, everyone wants something different and no one will use proper dialogue to resolve anything. Airport is one of those problems, everyone should agree to a common mandate, some process and look at a way forward, covid is here to stay for a while so better get used to it.

Several countries in Europe close down more and more. My favorite country Sri Lanka is doing the other way - why? Don't let money rule - health is much more important. Regards from Bosse in Sweden
