Diversified conglomerate Sunshine Holdings PLC has come forward for the second consecutive year to support the country’s premier economic summit hosted by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC), which brings thought leaders in many spheres – including top economists, foreign/local private sector professionals and leading public sectors figures – to one platform. Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2016, of which Sunshine Holdings is a Gold sponsor, will be held on August 2 and 3, 2016 on the theme ‘Focus. Act.
Deliver’ and will focus on ‘transforming Sri Lanka’s potential with action’. The high-level annual event deliberates on key economic challenges facing the nation and the potential solutions. Sunshine Holdings PLC was also a sponsor of last year’s Economic Summit held on the theme – ‘Towards exports of USD 50 billion’. “Vibrant discussion on key issues facing the Sri Lankan economy is very much the need of the hour at a time Sri Lanka is developing a new economic policy amidst local challenges and an uncertain global outlook,” Sunshine Holdings Group Managing Director Vish Govindasamy said.
“Sunshine Holdings takes pleasure in supporting such valuable discourse, via continued sponsorship of a premier economic forum – which we expect will deliver many important actionable insights.” Sunshine Holdings PLC is a diversified holding company contributing to ‘nation building’ by creating value in vital sectors of the Sri Lankan economy – including healthcare, agribusiness, fastmoving consumer goods and renewable energy.
The group, which provides employment to approximately 12,000, generates over US $ 120 million in revenue. Sunshine Holdings is consistently ranked among the LMD Top 50 companies in Sri Lanka and is also one of the country’s largest tax payers – contributing over Rs. 500 million to the state’s coffers annually.
