The significance of Sri Lanka’s participation in Fruit Logistica – a specialised international tradeshow for fruits, vegetables and spices, was highlighted at a virtual meeting yesterday.
It is an event meant for the benefit of local industry stakeholders and export-oriented companies.
The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka) organised a press conference with the online participation of some experts in Germany recently, to educate the Sri Lankan public about the event.
Fruit Logistica is the world’s leading trade fair for fruits, vegetable and spices, attracting more than 3,300 exhibitors from over 90 countries and more than 72,000 trade visitors from over 135 countries. It is to be conducted in May 2021.
The trade show offers exhibitors an international platform with total visibility for fresh produce and other agricultural products, while providing opportunity for face-to-face meetings with potential business partners and strengthening existing business relations with suppliers and customers.
The trade show, scheduled to happen from February 3 to 5, 2021, in Berlin, will further showcase innovative machinery, digitalisation, automation and network technology, with special focus on greenhouse technology.
Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka Chief Delegate Andreas Hergenröther highlighted the importance of raising awareness for products ‘Made in Sri Lanka’ in international markets and increasing business opportunities for Sri Lankan fresh fruits and vegetable exporters. As the official representative of German – Sri Lankan business relations in Sri Lanka, Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka) is committed to fair business and offers the ideal platform to create business opportunities for both Sri Lankan and German companies, in both directions.
