The government will reach a final decision on re-opening of the country’s international airports for commercial flights on 15th of this month, State Minister of Aviation and Export Zones Development, D. V. Chanaka told Mirror Business last Friday.
He noted that the re-opening date of the country’s international airports is most likely to fall between 21st and 23rd of this month.
Last week, Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga announced that Sri Lanka’s international airport and the country would be officially opened to tourists from January 21.
However, the State Minister said that the government would reach the final decision on 15th of this month, based on the success of the tourism revival pilot project, which ran into a major controversy. (NF)
