Sri Lanka captain Lasith Malinga won the toss and elected to bat first against defending champions West Indies in the first semi-final of the ICC World T20 Championships at Dhaka.

Sri Lanka has left out all-rounder Thissara Perera to accommodate leg-spinner Seekkuge Prasanna.
