Defeated UNP Galle district candidate and former Member of Parliament Vajira Abeywardena says he will decide his next course of action in a weeks time. There was speculation he might leave the UNP if he is not given a national list slot from the party.

When contacted by Daily Mirror online and asked if he will quit the UNP and join the government if he is not given a national list slot by the party to enter parliament, the former UNP MP said he will not comment on it to the media and his decision will be known in a week’s time.

It is believed that Abeywardena has demanded for a national list slot from his party after he was defeated at the General Elections held recently. (Daily Mirror online)

Now that you have been rejected by the people get lost. National List is for Professionals and minorities. The country cannot be run solely by people without education and professional experience.

Please accept the verdict of people. Please retire from politics and also tell your leader to think about this.
