They're free to support any team they want.. gosh just because they support another team that doesn't mean the world will come to a standstill.
Think Sri Lankan's have better things and bigger problems to worry about than cricket teams
lankantuan Monday, 04 February 2013 10:40 AM
muslims in sri lanka did not demand for a separate state at any day. we dont want to refer the history of muslims where or how they came to sri lanka, its out of the question but now we muslims are sri lankan. We dont know for how more years we are going to live in this world, this is life on a temperory basis, soon or later we will depart ALLAH knows the best. We wanted to live peaceful life with all other religions. We did not create any differences with sinhalese but few extrmists are trying to sideline us. i have many friends from the sinhalese communities than our muslims. I mean very good friends and wel understanding. we are not in stone ages so keep away the differences show the world we are one and togather. those who tried to create anti religion stop them from the grass root make them understand. educated them as per the buddhist teaching

If there are checks and balances to ensure that private uni's provide quality education and recognized qualifications so that people don't get taken in by fly-by-night operations, then what's the big deal? it'll probably be cheaper than having to send your kids abroad.
What about Budu Bala Senawa and the like actively whipping up communal disharmony and alienating minorities? Are they somehow part of this foreign conspiracy as well?
We should stop blaming others and start taking responsibility for our own action

This would be the perfect reply. but i have a strong doubt if the present day people who claims they sinhala Biddhists ever understood the real meaning of their prayer.

Muslims do not support 'Pakistan' in a cricket match against sri lanka. They always cheer and support the country -SRI LANKA. Yes, some handful of muslims do cheer for 'Pakistan', they are boras and bhai's who have decendency from india and pakistan.
edward Monday, 04 February 2013 12:50 PM
This is a baseless topics , no body in sri lanka wanna the way he talks , we been living with all comunities together all times , we dont wanna to be panic on this statement ,

There are evidence that Norwegian ambassador was in side the Bodu Bala sena office while the meeting was held. This is because the western world want to oppose the srilanka at the UN council by the muslim contries which were support last time. then their plans will be successful, they try to invade srilanka by using the LTTE name, but they want to do that by great buddist clerics.

Like what your'e saying, its good. But then why do Muslims support Pakistan when they play against Sri lanka?
DireStraits Monday, 04 February 2013 02:51 AM
Really ? If so then why are the Budu Bala Senawa and the likes so actively whipping up communal disharmony? What have you done to counter attack them from alienating the other communities. Remember, when you point your finger, there are 3 more pointing back at you.

Whenever you act contrary to accepted norms and practices and become unpopular, it has become a habit conjure up the theory that international forces are involved behind the scene. It is high time you drop this bogey and look within yourselves and correct your faults.
Frank Monday, 04 February 2013 07:13 AM
Enough with the various conspiracy theories and blaming the west for everything! Its time that we take responsibility fr our actions and make the necessary changes where required.

What is wrong with private universities? The rich pay money to private companies to educate their children, the private companies pay taxes and there are more places in government universities for the less fortunate. Everyone is a winner! His views on western support for the moslem community is wrong - and dangerous.
Sam Monday, 04 February 2013 07:33 AM
unless and until we accept that all people who live in this country are Sri Lankans with equal rights, irrespective of which race or religion they belong to, we are not going to find real peace nor prosperity in this country.

Clerics of any religion should be banned form appearing or even speaking of Politics, They should only preach and practice what they preach.

Probably the same reason as Sri Lankan born aussies and 1st generation Aussies with SL parents supporting Sri Lanka during Aus Vs. SL cricket matches.
jayantha silva Monday, 04 February 2013 09:33 AM
You have some very good intetions. I think you have all the peace you need to practice your religion . You too , must reciprocate. The blocking of main roads outside mosques in violation of all traffic rules is a simple example.
