Three injured in explosion

A man, his daughter and son were reported to have been injured in an explosion at Meddekanda in Balangoda this morning.

Police said the victims were admitted to the Balangoda Hospital and then transferred to the Ratnapura Hospital. They said the victims were inspecting an object, believed to be a torch, found near their doorstep when it exploded while the father was attempting to switch it on.
