Thilanga’s team, sans secretary, enters the fray

UPFA parliamentarian Thilanga Sumathipala and members of his team handed in their nominations to the Sports Ministry this morning for the upcoming Sri Lanka Cricket Elections.

Speaking to Daily Mirror Online, Mr. Sumathipala, a former President of the Board, said he intended on taking Sri Lanka Cricket to greater heights.

“Our team is confident and we want to execute our plans for the benefit of Sri Lanka Cricket,” he said. (H.F)

The team fielded by Mr. Sumathipala includes Mohan De Silva, Shammil De Silva for the posts of Vice Presidents, Eastman Narangodafor post of treasurer and Erwin Jayawardena as Assistant treasurer.

The nomination for post of secretary has not been submitted but unconfirmed reports suggest that NishanthaRanathunga would hand over the nominations on behalf of Mr. Sumathipala’s team.
