The truth is , since NP is under military administration, governor used to poke his nose everywhere , it was also supported by govt to have its direct control on nothern people

Since it is a matter of interpretation of a constitutional provision, the outcome would be very much interesting and one which would be eagerly awaited.

Everyone has forgotten that peaceful environment now prevails because of MR and at the same time all unpatriotic elements including UNP,JVP,SF,Wickremabahu and so on are trying to take revenge from the govt. for not establishing Northern PC as clearly they know that pro-LTTE party TNA is trying to take control and go for unofficial Ealam. Having clearly known to this fact govt. is trying to complete all development projects and take the upper hand in such a way that would not create any domination by TNA for separation.
We the general masses will empower MR again and again to avoid this situation.

Don't waste tax payer money.
We know what will happen.
The government has the majority to change any constitutional law in the parliament in the way it did for 18th amendment.
So Governor will have the last laugh!!!
Poor Lankans!!!
Thaha Muzammil Friday, 05 October 2012 10:36 AM
Then why all other PCs required to pass this Bill.
Governors could have given their assent to it.

Are constitutions meant for all the citizens or the converse as perversely obtains in the country. Which begs the question: are laws meant for citizens or citizens meant for laws as perversely obtains in the island.

It is good to see no coments here along the lines of " why any power to councils.. better take it back to the centre etec tec"'.. does it imply thatthere is a change of heart from the majority ??
