Rs.2bn approved for Military uniforms

The cabinet has approved 2 Billion rupees for the purchase of uniform material required for the military.

The approval was granted after a proposal was made to this effect by the President as the Minister of Defense and urban Development, to the cabinet, cabinet spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella said.

The Uniforms are to be purchased for the Tri service personnel, Police, STF, Department of Civil Security and the National cadet Corps personnel.
The cabinet has also approved over Rs. 4000 million for the construction of a ten storey state of the art hospital for the Army.

Commenting on the rationale behind the decision Rambukwella said that it is the duty of the government to give soldiers and their families the best in healthcare.

War heroes should be well treated. There is a crowd in Sri Lanka
mostly unpatriotic, inclined to bankrupt opposition not mindful that they were rescued from gruesome terrorists by these soldiers.

Defense is everything.. It is well evident ,comparative situations now and situation then in SL and Defense is an on going process.. It is a journey rather than a destination.. These allocations should be continued..

Our heros deserve the best of uniforms, salary, health care and education for them and their families. We can walk, travel by bus or railway not fearing of bomb blasts, mines and other devices because of our heros. Thank you.

Why didn't you voice your opinion when the Army Commander was arrested like a notorious criminal and put behind bars ....
I see that is what is called PATRIOTISM I guess ....
