UNP Leader Ranil Wickramasingha has expressed his willingness to quit from the party leadership if senior members of the main opposition are unhappy about his leadership, UNP sources told Daily Mirror online.

Wickramasingha had mentioned this to senior party members just hours before embarking on a personal visit to India yesterday, UNP sources added.

“Wickramasingha told a few party members that he is willing to resign if the members are unhappy with him. However no one has responded yet,” sources said.

The UNP is facing a serious leadership crisis after the party continued to lose successive elections over the past few years.  A few senior members of the UNP have suggested Mr. Wickremasinghe step down gracefully and make way for a new leader to rise in the party.

In the April 8, parliamentary elections the UNP was defeated by the ruling United People’s Free Alliance (UPFA). The UNP obtained 46 seats while the UPFA obtained 117 seats.

During the run up to the elections several UNP supporters and lawyers changed their allegiance by supporting President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the UPFA.

At least three UNP members including Sajith Premadasa and Dayasiri Jayasekara have put forward proposals for reforms in the party.

Dayasiri Jayasekara had said the UNP required a politician of President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s calibre to save the party from its present predicament.  (Daily Mirror online)

Very late..... anyway good decision. I think Sajith may come forward. Good luck UNPrs.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:29 AM

    Good move.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:30 AM

Your really a gentleman but at the moment need some change in the party...any how wish you all the best in future..

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:31 AM

THIS IS THE GREATEST RELIEF, BETTER LATE THAN NEVER. SAJITH NEEDS TO TAKE OVER.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:33 AM

Thanks Mr. Ranil and give the party leader to Mr. Sajith as well. We hope you'll stay with UNPers.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:38 AM

Hope you don't have idea for cross over

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:42 AM

Thank you gentleman. So late but so good
UNP will win the next general election and etc...
don't you be a silent member as patron of UNP bcz UNP need your experience....

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:42 AM

Its time now to bow down.Should have done so gracefully years ago, but alas its never too late....

Lets build the UNP to its former glory...with the right team of leaders it will rise!!!!!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:43 AM

Quit the leadership but do not quit the party !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:44 AM

You have been a liability to the party for too long. Forget the Seniors, just quit.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:47 AM

Please don't GO... please stay as you are...

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:52 AM

Hope you will not join the Bros. & Co.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:52 AM

it is very much advisable decision but Mr Ranil must be given a senior position in the party. he is a asset to the country . country badly needs the service of Mr Ranil but not as a party leader

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:53 AM

I hope no pole vault, but its a great gesture to move on and be there for the benefit of the party, and blessings to you Sajith

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:55 AM

    THE DUPLICATE ?

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 06:58 AM

He should do what is best for the party.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:00 AM

The Party needs you, but JUST QUIT THE LEADERSHIP and make way for a NEUTRAL person like SAJITH PREMADASA. Tks & good luck to you for taking this decision.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:05 AM

On your mark ! get set !................

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:05 AM

THIS IS WHAT THE GOVERNMENT NEED. SO, DO IT & PLAY TO THE HANDS OF THE GOVERNMENT. THEY NEED A NOVICE LIKE SAJITH TO BE THE LEADER & HAVE ELECTIONS FOR THE LEADERSHIP OF UNP,

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:06 AM

The same trick. He has done this several times but has never stepped down. Why wait for a request to step down. Knowing that you are a failure just step down like Gorden Brown and support the new leader.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:07 AM

You are a good gentleman, someone who truly loved the party. You took the reigns n 1994, when the party was at the rock bottom, and marched forward with great difficulty. Only few people remember the past,
However, now the world has changed and i wonder if gentleman politics is still around. After so many election losses, people are thinking of a new leadership, they need to have a hope. It is proven that your style of leadership is not right for Sri Lanka.
I think the best thing to do is to side step gracefully and watch carefully what's happening.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:08 AM

    Good News!
Ranil, please learn a lesson from Gordon Brown of UK and be a back bencher.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:09 AM

good move Ranil, but u must stay in the party , u are a gentleman and an asset to this country, one day this country wil need u

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:13 AM

Whatever you say or do, what is destined will happen. We will hope for the best always.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:13 AM

May be Ranil trying to get UNPers' sympathy and retain as leader!!!
Pls. go…… let sajith to lead the party

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:14 AM

Ranil has been enjoying the perks of Opposition Leader for too long while doing nothing either for the country or the party. The thought of giving up all these must be really heart breaking for him.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:14 AM

Mr.RW, Please do not give up the leadership of UNP. It will be disaster for Sri Lanka.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:16 AM

This has been his old story! He should show leadership , take the intitiative and quit first. He then tells the party to re-elect him if they want him!! That is how it should be done. Why does he want to wait until he is shoved? Is he a man or a mouse?

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:18 AM

Good, step down, but dont leave the party. Juniors need more political insight! Join with JVP and form an alliance. There are quite capable people in JVP. Country before Party!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:20 AM

Lot of readers have suggested Sajith Premadasa. What has he done to deserve the party leader's position. He always avoided when serious issues confronted either by the party or the country. Other than Hambanthota, he hasn't done any thing, even speaking out in the Parliment. People like Ravi Karunanayake and Lakshman Kiriella have done a better job for the party than Sajith.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:21 AM

    As a gentlemen
Behalf of unp party benefits and innocent people’s future, you must scarify what ever you can do now.. it will remain for ever …SIR

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:22 AM

Jagath, GB is not a good example.. just wait and see..

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:23 AM

WE NEED RANIL .... HE IS OUR HERO !!! :D

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:23 AM

He won't give up the leadership. What is the bet ???

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:24 AM

I hope this is not another of Ranil's established practice to make these statements and not mean them. Its time to go bud. You are too soft to be a poiltician.Just start a farm and enjoy life.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:28 AM

If people are asking for a change, we should give what they want. What people need today is a super star. Ranil has not excelled in performing arts, they don't care about his knowledge or experience
    .

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:31 AM

Fully agree with SW's comments. Ranil only wants to enjoy the perks of being opposition leader, taking the UNP from disaster to disaster. No one need to tell him to go, just look at the results of every election.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:31 AM

Sajith will side with the Gov.. and UNP will go down the same path as always.. (The Loosing Path).. It's the same thing earlier it was Karu and now it's Sajith...

I'll be a happy man if I'm in the Government as 2/3 is a Sure thing...

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:32 AM

LTTE always wanted to defeat Ranil. SLFP wants the same. Foolish UNP idiots think that once Ranil goes they can win which will never happen. It will take the UNP at least 15 years to form a Sajith Premadasa government.

Educated UNPers will start backing SF instead of Sajith pushing the UNP into further disaster.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:33 AM

Ranil, whole country needs a change for UNP leadership. Please step down gracefully. You have done your part to the party and the country. Need new visionaries to take the party energertically fo the future. For god sake do not only consult senior members of the party who are close allies of you. Listen to the grassroot they do not want you any more. Country needs a strong UNP to challenge the the Governmnt which heading the country towards nowhere.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:33 AM

After stepping down, you can handle the Colombo Elite crowd, their votes are there for you

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:44 AM

    Excellent move to strenghen UNP!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:45 AM

You are a gentlemen, your gentle qualities do not suit the present political trend.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:45 AM

Is he trying to quit the UNP and become PM under MR in November?

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:46 AM

LETS TAKE A BET. NOTHING WILL CHANGE, OUR RANIL WILL BE THE DE FACTO LEADER UNDER ALL AND ANY REFORM

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:48 AM

    Good move by Ranil....
But you should never ever leave the party.....
Because the government wants a UNP without political experience so that they can always out perform the opposition...
So we need you to be in UNP...Still colombo people will vote you over 200000.Everyone knows you are a corrupt free person. None can ever raise any issues regarding your honestness since you don't have ugly records. Be in the party and help the party in international affairs and increase the goodwill of party overseas

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:48 AM

Yes that educated people in UNP thought SF is better than RANIL but what happen at last pres. election

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:56 AM

He is the best leader for our country but his bad luck we cant help it
when time comes all will know about him.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:58 AM

No don’t do that. No other person for the leadership better than Ranil, if followers dislike Ranil he should resign from party and act as independent MP, or support to SF, county need people like him, but people dont understand him.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 07:59 AM

Are you serious???? get this, he never used the official residence of the opposition leader (no opposition leader in our history ever done that), he uses his own private vehicle. Can you please tell me what are these perks you talk about???

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:06 AM

Thanks RW, Better late than never.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:09 AM

Mr. RW is a gentleman who is knowledgeble, experienced and commands the respect of intl community. May be he has lapses in reaching out to the rural community in winning votes and at certain time in decision making. It is for this that the organizers and other party starwarts are there to strengthen the party at exco & at grassroot levels. Without attending to their job at electoral & exco level , just transferring the blame to the leader is not going to help. Even if Sajith is at the helm the same will happen.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:11 AM

Well Sir, as blame after blame had been cast upon for the successive defeats, I suggest that you step down gracefully and get a young blood to steer the party for a grand victory at the next election. However, under no circumstances should you quit the party as your wisdom and experience are needed to guide the whole lot to see it thru'.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:13 AM

I certanly agreed with you bcoz Ranil's experience can never be reproduced, Sajith is stll young of couse he is future of UNP

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:13 AM

This is another Gimmick by Mr.Unelectable (Ranil). He said the same thing in November 2005! He is just marking time... Unless he is thrown out physically he will not let go of the leadership......... WHAT A SHAME.....?

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:17 AM

Ho Ho at last some good news for UNP and a bad news for UPFA.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:22 AM

You must be a strong UPFA supporter. You love Sajith though you say you prefer Ranil

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:27 AM

    BEGONE!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:34 AM

Who cares what the other members of the UNP says - the government likes Ranil to continue as leader of the UNP - and as Leader of the Opposition. The UNP members are outnumbered in the house.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:35 AM

No, he's getting a post in the EU.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:35 AM

Be a gentleman. Give way way to a new leader.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:36 AM

The country needs you to continue as the leader of the opposition until eternity!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:37 AM

Good decision the party will come up

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:39 AM

I am sure RW does not need to hear what the seniors have to say, He should just keep an internal election and elect a new leader to the party. RW international network is needed in the future for the Party hence RW should hold an advisory post to suggest the new leader how to carry forward the party in line with UNP JRJ style. Sajith has the guts and the man to stand against the MR administration on the streets. Ranil can support him with the international fight. Hope we will have a country that all are longing for which is democratically free from politics in the future

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:40 AM

An eye wash just to calm down the wave. He may never leave the leadership.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:42 AM

whatever said and done Ranil is a honest and inteligent leader. Unfortunatly he is not suitable for third rate Sri Lankan politics.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:43 AM

    Thank God!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:45 AM

Ranil is a very unlucky person...He is not suitable for this country... He must give his resignation himself & quit...

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:47 AM

UNP is History. 10 Ranils can quit.UPFA has come to stay. If everybody gets it into their heads the better..... especially the so called MPs of UNP. You guys have no guts to fight.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:48 AM

Mr. Wickramasingha is a great Leader to the Nation which most of the rural area people could not understand his vision to develop country, pointless to blame leader rather than Organizers not playing their roll to drive Party to the Victory, hence, all organizers should do their duty perfectly.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:53 AM

    true, well said

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:55 AM

Yes, he will go...but first must appoint a committee to look into party reforms, then another committee to look into senior posts, another for suitable persons...and lo! Its election time again.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:55 AM

A very good decision, I hope you will stick to it and leave the party leadership immediately. It is better for the country, we can begin to repair the damaged roots of UNP and counter the corrupt politicians effectively. Above all we will be able to usher democracy back into the political system in the country.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:56 AM

    UNP new song!!!

    There goes the hotstepper,
    he the local gangster,
    Excuse me opposition leader ,
we Still love you like that,

    nanana!!!!!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:56 AM

UNP will start going down from now onwards! If Sajith had such love towards the party, he could have done the 'Jathika Jeewaya programme' during the Pre-presidential election campaign! why sudden impulse?

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:05 AM

    may sanath jayasuriya follow you!!!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:06 AM

Ranil must step down as he has failed miserably. However the new leader has to be ELECTED.What has Sajith done
    to be the leader?

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:14 AM

WOW..REALLY, IT'S GREAT NEWS TO HEAR IN THIS CENTURY. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, THE GREAT GENTLE MAN-GOOD DIPLOMAT AND WELL KNOWN FIGURE FROM THIS WORLD. BUT WE NEED FOX TO FIGHT WITH THE SAME......

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:16 AM

Many people are accusing Ranil for the failure of UNP. Actually he is not. Ranil's only weakness is he is thinking that he is a party leader of a western country. If he wants to survive, he should change himself into Sri Lanka's dirty politics . True genuine politicians are not welcomed by the most of the people here.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:24 AM

    PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:27 AM

Ranil Wickramasinghe's intellectual and professional calibre is irreplaceable. He is undobtedly the most respected Sri Lankan politician of the educated crowd of the country. Just because UNP voters are in a hurry, your suggestion to push him off will not solve the problem. In fact it will make UNP scattered and I bet you wont even be able to see the Green Elephant hereafter.. Who is Sajith? Just a son of an abhorred president of this country. What educational qualificaton does he have to govern a country? What professional experances does he have? Just a deputy ministership of two years, again thanks to Ranil.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:31 AM

There is clearly a problem within the UNP. The thing is that we as outsiders usually are not in a situation where we can actually identify what it is.

This is a lot like when armchair cricketers recommend how the team should be reorgnaised without knowing anything abt the interpersonal relationships between the members.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:33 AM

You are correct of course, but the common idiot, i mean the common man, is ready to vote for sajith based on what his daddy did.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:44 AM

It is high time and somewhat little late, Ranil Should resigns respectfully. We still can remember what Ranil said twice before but never did so. Why wait for party seniors when he himself has seen his own performance. At least now let Young blood like Sajith and Dayasiri to come forward they will have enough time before next election to get things organize steadily. Please never think of the people who joint PA including those who came back for senior positions. There is a big difference leaving the party and forming a separate party and leaving the party and joining with the ruling party for perks and power and then ruin the party image. Lalith and Gamini never did that
(They did not joint with the then SLFP) because they loved UNP.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:46 AM

Ranil always like this when the troubles come head on running away from the country. how can he be a strong leader

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:50 AM

Headache is somewhere else. Changing the pillow won't help. Well, fellows dying for his blood, let them try and see!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:51 AM

Ranil is a Genuine and a Gentleman leader, ideal to rule Srilanka, but some UNPers sadly think otherwise. Its not Ranil's fault at all that UNP had lost few elections. its because of some stupid nationalists and LTTE. When they brough impeachment against ex President Premadasa he was with the late president. When PA won later, Ranil could have still formed a party with minorities but he said 'no' He is the last of thsoe gentlemen polititians after DS, Sir John and Dudley we had. Ranil is neither a power freak nor a rogue. Its realy Sad indeed.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:52 AM

You are wrong.SF will join UNP once that cunning fox is gone.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:55 AM

Now now people don't get over excited, there;s no way hez gonna leave. Just read in between the lines where it says,

"if senior members of the main opposition are unhappy about his leadership,"

So im sure he has more than one senior members whose more than happy with his leadership, so He's not gonna quit :D :D this guy is a cunning strategist lol Long Live Sri Lanka and UNP will remain a sinking ship.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:55 AM

Well , good decision ... but we want you to be with the party sir..........

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:05 AM

Should have taken this decision long time ago...!!!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:06 AM

RW is the most suitable leader to lead this country towards success but unfortunately sri lankans mind set is not improved to understand the reality of poitics..

We can't say RW is unluckey, whole Sri lanka is unluckey to loose a great leader like RW

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:06 AM

RW is a good man. he never groomed anyone to take up the leadership. Sajith is not a leader. Sajith coming from the USA expected the Presidency right away like a prince by heritage when his dictator father got killed. Some know the background of the real Sajith. I would say Ranil stay where you are now and groom able leaders like the JR did if to organize the UNP.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:08 AM

The great gentleman who is not greedy for power. Mr Ranil is a man with a vision for this country. He could have been the lee qwan of Sri Lanka if he was elected president in 2005. Sir, Please do not leave the UNP leadership you are the best leader for the party and for the country one day. People will realize the value of you, at least till then stick on to the leadership. God Bless

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:17 AM

Every one think Sajith will take the UNP to winning era.
He has only the image(thanks to Hon Premadasa), whats the charisma he has?. I think ideal person is Gen Fonseka.
He can lead the party for winning era. No one else can challenge Rajapaksha.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:25 AM

Ranil has more perks at home than any opposition leader enjoys in this country.

Furthermore he can earn much more by lecturing in a foreign university !

Why he bothers with a country full of people like you is what amazes me !

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:27 AM

Those who support Rw's resignation and Sajith's promotion to the UNP leadership should realize that Premadasa has a long way to go before taking-up the leadership of the UNP.Leadeship change at this juncture is not the answer to the crisis. However, it is right time a leader is groomed

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:33 AM

Thanks to Daily Mirror online news, they have brought in a lot of positive and negative comments on RW. Based on the outcome it is crystal clear that that RW has to step down. So to save his honour it is most appropriate for him to act accordingly. He is a dynamic person but unfortunately Sri Lanka is not a place for him to do politics because he lacks the personal touch you ought to have with the voters. UNP needs his advice and guidance so he must function as an advisor and not leave at any cost.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:45 AM

Ranil should call it a day on his own, ONLY AFTER ACCOUNTING FOR THE 2010 ELECTION FUNDS AS REQUESTED BY SOME IN THE UNP ITSELF

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:51 AM

UNP as a party did lot of unacceptable things in the past especially during President Premadasa's period. UNP became very unpopular due to these acts. UNP could not come up because of these reasons. As a party they did those, now Ranil is paying. People are suggesting to bring that President as the party leader.......... Something wrong somewhere......

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:54 AM

Right team of leaders? Name one candidate in the party who has leadership qualities. You would need mass resignations and 100% new recruits for any chance of attaining their former glory.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:55 AM

Ranil is a good leader. Only thing he lacks is inability to express his views in Sinhala. If any one else becomes the party leader out of the present lot,UNP wil go down further.

    NFDO

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:56 AM

If you're ready, then why are you waiting??? QUIT NOW.. Our country needs a strong opposition for development and you have failed to provide it. But, I still like your economic policies and think Sri Lanka will need you in the future to play other roles.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 10:58 AM

People are suggesting to bring that President's son as the party leader.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 11:03 AM

Mr.Ranil, I am a great fan of you. Sri Lanka is unfortunate enough to avail his services by the stupidity of the majority community.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 11:03 AM

RW is an honest man with clean hands. That is something special about him.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 11:10 AM

Try and see? UNP with RW as it's leader tried their best for the last fifteen years, you mean to wait for another fifteen years with RW?

Ranil should not quit as leader. He should remain and get the 2nd in commands Sajith & Dayasiri to do the talking and the work in the rural areas. Ranil should avoid talking on election platforms and let Sajith & Dayasiri do the talking. Just like JRJ got Lalith A & Gamini D to do the talking. And MR gets WW, SB, Keheliya to do the shouting.

At last UNP exco has opened eyes. I respect Ranil as a person & not as a leader. I don't want to dwell in the past.
Steam ahaed guys. Good Luck to the next leader. I throw a bit of advise to the EXCO -Pls do NOT forget to place the Gentleman -Karu Jayasuriya as deputy leader or in a similar position. Sri Lanka needs people like him to succeed.

Leadership should be given to Mangala Samaraweera, instead of Sajith.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 11:37 AM

Ranil must have watched the Sajith interview and realized that there are others who can do a better job. Not only the "senior members of the main opposition" but also the majority of UNP supporters were dissappointed with his performance as Leader.

Ranil better join UPFA, you are only fit to be Foreign Minister!
that is the only way UNP can be saved!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 05:58 PM

Mr. Ranil should not quit from UNP because UNP defeat from election was not due to Ranil and those front line people only criticized Govt but did nothing for their own party. They thought that criticizing the government is enough to win the elections. Therefore 95% of the responsibility go to the party organizers and front liners

Trying the same trick will not work this time because the party has faced the biggest defeat under his leadership ... he should have quit the position as soon as the election results were out.

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 08:52 PM

The only one who can make Ranil leave, is his doctor!

    Tuesday, 11 May 2010 09:30 PM

If they change Ranil, at this stage, the UNP's core values will also change for ever ... Why don't the 'big mouths' start a brand new party for themselves.

    Who are these 'senior members'?

    Wednesday, 12 May 2010 02:48 AM

RW is a very experienced politician, good political analyst, and a clear thinker, but he hasnt led the party to victory in several successive elections. So, whats the point of being such a good politician, if you can't get into power to implement? In other democratic countries, the head makes way for another after a loss in elections, there is nothing wrong with this.Good for him to make way now and to bow out gracefully. He can still continue to make a valuable contribution to party decisions.

sajith is good, ranil is better!

    Wednesday, 12 May 2010 04:31 AM

did you really think your so popular inside the party? and they are happy about you? i dont think so. time to make a move ranil. don't wait until you are kicked off..

He did not use the residence. But see all the foreign traveling ?
Who pays for those. IT is either the party of the country. Each trip must be costing at least Rs. 500, 000 or more with hotel fees etc. That is why he is sticking on to the post of UNP leader. Just to Globe trot and enjoy life. Even Mahinda does not travel this much.
