Inserting nails into one's own body is also a common form of self-mutilation, seen in victims of stress. Hopefully this will be investigated by forensic physicians and will not just be a "trial by the media."

Please post an English translation of this video! If this had happened in a Western country our politicians would have been clamoring on the streets of Colombo, by now, calling for their blood, with all sorts of racists remarks. But they are cowards when it comes to Saudi Arabia. So much for justice!

Muhandiram Imsid Friday, 27 August 2010 06:33 PM

Can anyone tell me how the Saudi employer managed to insert as many as 24 nails into her body, without causing her serious injury?

My question is why do we still want to send our women for slavery? Money is one thing, but we have to think about their safety.

stone to death is not enough for those who did this cruelty....when the almighty punish those animal creatures, they will feel the pain more than 100% than this innocent lady's pain...

Aren't there ways at least to make complaints through Saudi embassy in Sri Lanka and expose it globally to bring forward the culprits to avoid more similar cases

    Ramzeel Friday, 27 August 2010 06:19 AM

The Saudi should not be pardoned if he or anyone has tortured this innocent lady. At the same time it should be checked by scientific means when these nails entered her body.

    Jix Friday, 27 August 2010 06:19 AM

What an amazingly strong, resilient women...having seen her on TV, her spirit still seems not to have broken! I have no doubt she will overcome this. Sri Lanka is watching over and praying for you!

    Mr.Concern Friday, 27 August 2010 06:19 AM

what a sorry state..SL embassy should pressurise the saudi authority to give capital punishment as per saudi law (if found guilty) for such inhuman act.

    jay Friday, 27 August 2010 06:18 AM

Get well soon, God bless you and the medical team.

Are we just going to criticize her former boss and stop there? How about through DAILY MIRROR we collect some money for her to make sure that she never needs to go to another country for employment? If Daily Mirror initiates it am sure this will work.
    My prayers for her.
