Museum robbery main suspect arrested

The main suspect in the theft of artefacts from National Museum in Colombo was arrested by a special CID team on Saturday, police said.

They said the suspect Lansage Priyantha Mendis alias ‘Kan Getta’, was taken into custody while he was working as a mason at a tourist hotel in Negombo.

“The suspect is now being questioned about his involvement in the robbery,” the Police headquarters said in a statement.

    Interesting fact is that a man who has apparently robbed goods to the value of millions is working as a labourer. I wonder what the deal is. Like in so many other cases, until the public have consumed the details fed to them, there will be a hype and then soon forgotten and taken away from the public's gaze. Thereafter no one will know details of the alleged culprit. Any ideas about what's happening to the Major who bashed himself?

    When this robery took place, security system (Electronic Cameras) didnt work on that day.Hope you people can remember? That means he is not a ordinary Mason Bass. A super human with elcectronic & electric knowledge.
