While claiming that it would not support any sort of human rights violations or abuse in any part of the world, India said, ‘but in Sri Lanka, such allegations were levelled against both the Sri Lankan army and the LTTE’, the Express News Service reported.

It also said that Indian Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) V Narayanasamy on Saturday said the PMO has been apprised of the sentiments of people and political parties in Tamil Nadu about the US-sponsored motion against Sri Lanka for alleged human rights violations during the civil war.

Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, DMK president M Karunanidhi and MDMK leader Vaiko had taken up the issue with the PM.

Totally agreed that India is always against Sri Lanka or Sinhalese. They always think of India itself. Always ready to please Tamil Nadu. BTW who trained those Tamil Terrorists in 1970 s. It is India .Then other matter. It could have easily been defeated LTTE in 1980 s under then defence minister Lalith Athulathmudali with much less human casualty. Who averted that win against terrorism. It is India. Our so called big brother. Anybody can remember last UN general secretary election. What India did. To defeat SL's candidate India also fielded a person last moment. By fielding its own candidate, India's sole intention was to defeat SL's candidate but nothing else. This is "big brother's" attitude towards its "small brother".

however, people froget everything quickly even there had a slaughter of sinhala buddhists, kids and buddhist monks a few decades.

All of us want peace, but our mindset is a recipe for disaster. First of all, both the Tamils and Sinhalese have to admit their mistakes and their roles in this conflict. Its easy to forget the riots in which the Tamils were massacred, it is easy to forget the attacks in which the Sinhalese brothers were massacred. If we deliberately forget these crimes and point the finger at one another without cleaning up or own mess, I think we will go nowhere, but rot to hell in this rat hole. Thus far everyone has been working to satisfy their selfish needs, and surely it will continue, because no one cares about the other! This is a sure recipe for disaster. Don't look for peace by silencing the moderate voices.

As some of replies indicate, we in Sri lanka & abroad don't feel much about what India does. They first armed east pakistan to seperate & now invoved in destablizing Pakistan (what is left of it).

In the early years they armed & supoorted LTTE & other anti-Sri Lanka groups and now trying assist because China is at an advantage.

Hambantoota port development was offered to India, but was refused, beacuse who wants to assist Sri lanka to compete with Indian ports.
Now they complain too many Chinese are in sri lanka & their presence irritates them Too bad a Sovereign state has the responsibility to develop inspite of objections of her jealous neighbours.

India had never been a true friend of Sri Lanka but only an opportunist associating for profit..China and Pakistan are genuine partners of GoSL. A mighty India if she had an iota of self respect and a semblance of morality would not create the L TTE, to wage war against her closest tiniest neighbour. The Votes of Tamil Nadu is essential for its maintainance. Hence all ther consideration are secondary. Therefore betraying Sri Lanka
is nothing for India without whose support, we can overcome our problms. However the GoSL should immediately curtail and limit, the unlmited, North centric development assistance, which is defnitly s Trojen Horse, when time to come.
