Fraud in foreign employment

An agency operating under the Foreign Employment Bureau has uncovered a massive fraud carried out by the former management and is to file legal action to recover the lost money.

Chairman of the Foreign Employment Agency (Pvt) LTD Gamini Ekanayaka, speaking to Daily Mirror online said that the former management of the agency had defrauded nearly Rs. 40 Million when sending people overseas for employment.

The fraud, when sending people to Israel, Canada Dubai, had been committed between 2007 and 2009, Gamini Ekanayaka told Daily Mirror online and the documents were being prepared now to take legal action. (Daily Mirror online)

Can somebody enlighten me, if Keliya Rambukwella, the present media minister was in charge of the ministry under which the foriegn employment bureau comes. There was a big fraud occured cheating the Lankan house maids who went to Kuwait. They were played out on the insurance scheme then by the same bureau.

Dear All,
The reason is absolutely the way the chairmen and Board of Directors apponted to ppublic institutions. The way it happens now is hand picking knowns leaving disciplined and trained people out of every activity. The knowns are obviously those culprits who come forward to help govt during elections. They do not help electioneering, nor possess any kind of skill to run an institute properly.

Hereafter, please advertise the positions available, get them to make a presentation in public on his proposals to develop the country face an interview in public and select the best avaialble.

If the govt follows this methodlolgy, the country in no time will be the wonder land in Asia. Dr V U Ratnayake
