UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said today the party, together with its allies, would decide on its presidential candidate next week.

“Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe informed me that the decision will be taken next week. However, he elaborated on whether the decision would be taken by the working committee and the parliamentary group. All I can say is that we will decide on the candidate next week,” he told Daily Mirror. (Yohan Perera)

Why is this postponing game? This shows the real inside of UNP, which cannot even decide on their candidate.

SLPP is way ahead as a modern party and the indecision in UNP is hindering the party loyalist from their voluntary contribution.

UNP will decide next week but the people have already decided. What a dumb party. Are they living in the clouds.

You guys keep postponing date. Did you ever think that people consider you are a spineless joker. If you cannot decide on the candidate, it's better to keep quite until decide on some one rather than keep saying " Will announce next week."

Working committee is selected by Ranil. So if the vote is only for the working committee that means Ranil selects the candidates.
