Overall UNP was buried under the Elephantine problems of Central Bank Bond Issue and Ravi Karunanayake.
Nimal Sunday, 11 February 2018 02:32 PM

Obviously! The educated have spoken.
Mr Facts Sunday, 11 February 2018 03:19 PM
Not really. UNP mostly wins “wathu” and minority vote. Muslims 35% and Tamils 33%. Sinhalese only 23%. That’s the truth.
Thanos Sunday, 11 February 2018 03:22 PM
If saying that makes your pain go away, yeah sure. But the reality is Colombo has a large Tamil and Muslim population. They are very unlikely to vote for SLPP.
Professor Sunday, 11 February 2018 03:28 PM
Nearly 100,000 Has not voted. as per the Results Sheet. This gives the idea of the Well Educated Peoples Thinking. or they have spoken after James Bond 007
Kolamba Hadaya Sunday, 11 February 2018 03:37 PM
If you go to Mattakkuliya and Fort area you will see the thousands of your educated voters living in shanties suffering from dire poverty.

Truth Sunday, 11 February 2018 02:49 PM
The UNP will last a long time but to take power it needs to reform. Give Buddhika Pathi, Harsha ,Eran ,Ranjan ,RuwanW etc what they deserve. They were elected by us so they can serve SL. Old guys including RW must retire
Gamaya Sunday, 11 February 2018 03:36 PM
Very correct "truth". Thank you Ranil but, PLEASE hand over the party reins now so that we can have a new leader with new blood by 2020.

Whoever wields power let them remember that to invite thieves, robbers, uneducated thugs and corrupt individuals into their fold means inevitable loss at the next election. The people of Sri Lanka have spoken. Let those elected pay careful heed. Another chance will NOT be forthcoming. MM
OMG Sunday, 11 February 2018 05:28 PM
well said, as Sri Lankans we all should unite and lead the parties to do good to the country and develop the country. Whoever cant do it doesnt matter what color they are should be voted out. It is time for people to come out of color mania and think for the country. We dont want to listen to the politicians only talk and do nothing. It doesnt matter which color they are. They should be kicked out.
max Sunday, 11 February 2018 03:44 PM
The Lumpan class has proven their color once again but they can't change the voting pattern of the core sri Lankans.
Ceylon Sunday, 11 February 2018 05:06 PM

Dr.Siri Sunday, 11 February 2018 05:40 PM
The tax payers will be paying for the maintenance of 95 council members. What a waste of colossal money. Will the CMC be free of corruption.
SL Sunday, 11 February 2018 06:31 PM
