UNP MP Harin Fernando today said that UK election results proved that the nationalism has won over liberalism like in the US, UK, India and even in Sri Lanka.

“Conservatives have a sweeping victory. Congratulations to my Conservative friends. The message is clear. US, UK, India even Sri Lanka have proved its nationalism over liberalism. The cycle continues,” the MP tweeted.

Haha. The UK's own Gota has won the election. So it's ok for the sudda's country to be nationalist, but when 80% sinhala majority country votes for Gota, it's considered "Racist"? Enjoy the janitor jobs in your non-home, diaspora UK tamils. You will get nothing out of this.

@Jiff, UNP was founded as a nationalist party by its founder greats DS Senanayake, DB Jayathilake, Bandaranayake. But soon it started changing its course, prompting creation of SLFP. It continued its way off the nationalist principle while the general public moved more and more towards nationalism resulting in the present downfall of UNP.
