Two killed, many fall sick in healing meeting

A 39-year-old woman and a 78-year-old man had died and 18 others were hospitalised due to illness during a spiritual healing program in Horowpathana, Anuradhapura, the police said.

The deceased were identified as residents of Kalutara and Galle.

A large number of patients from various parts of the country reportedly participated at the spiritual healing program held at the Horowpothana Central College grounds from last night until this afternoon.

The victims were admitted to Horowpothana Hospital due to the worsening of their illnesses.

Out of the 18 injured, 14 were transferred to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

    This type of fake healing sessions should be prohibited.just making money off the poor and weak minded. Whatever the religion these are fake. Know of a guy who left a good job and took to full time 'healing' , now traveling the world. Well off.
