Two women were killed when a van and a bus transporting apparel workers collided head-on at Aparekka in Thihagoda this morning.
Police said the van travelling from Matara to Yatiyana had collided head-on with the bus arrived from the opposite.
They sid that five female employees travelling in the van and two females in the bus were admitted to the Matara Hospital and two of them were succumbed to injuries.
The deceased, aged 35 and 43 were identified as residents of Beliatta and Puhulwella.
The drivers of both the van and the bus were taken into custody over the accident.
