Three suspects were arrested by the Poojapitiya police yesterday with 311 hand gloves printed with the images of Buddha, Jesus and Mother Mary.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspects were arrested at the Batugoda area in Poojapitiya.
They were arrested for having violated provisions of the penal code. Whoever planned it with the intension of triggering religious outrage is an offence, he said.
The three suspects will be produced before the Galagedara Magistrate today, DIG Rohana said.
