UK Prime Minister Theresa May today said she would resign as the leader of the Conservative Party on June 7 and the process to select a new leader would begin in the following week, The Guardian reported a short while ago.
Making a statement, she said she has done her best to deliver Brexit.
“I have done everything I can to convince MPs to back that deal. Sadly, I have not been able to do so,” she said.
