A Sri Lankan restaurant ‘Mandas' , which serves authentic Sri Lanka food including rice and curry, hoppers and Kottu, was declared opened in the City Centre of St Pölten in Austria, an official said.
The Ambassador for Sri Lanka in Austria Majintha Jayasinghe met with Matthias Stadler, Mayor of St. Polten at the City Hall and had a cordial discussion. The restaurant opening took place on the sidelines of the event.
A statement from the embassy said the Ambassador and the Mayor had reiterated their interest to strengthen relationship between the two nations to enhance trade, investment and tourism opportunities.
The restaurant gave the Austrian Mayor and his delegation an opportunity to flavour authentic Sri Lanka cuisine in a truly Sri Lankan ambience. It is a place which serves authentic Sri Lankan cuisine along with other main cuisines.
